Yes, it's conceptual. I'd love to hear your interpretation!

The strangest thing is is that I have a friend who was painting gears and wheels not too long ago. I'm actually not good at "interpreting" art. I do believe that some can point to some subconscious feelings, while others may have nothing to do with what the artist is feeling. I don't like it when a lot of art critics try to pin emotion and rational thought to something completely random...but it's just how the world works. But you did ask so I'll try :3
Gears tend to turn in one direction--if you try to back them up, then you will only end up breaking them. Some are small and some are big, but they're all delicate in a way. They also all work together to create harmony, but are also machines. To me they symbolize hard-working yet delicate individuals; they are constantly doing industrious repetitive tasks and may be unhappy with their situation, yet like the gears, they have no voice in the situation and continue to do what they're supposed to
The melting is pretty straight forward. Something is clearly wearing away.
Well I guess I just interpreted the symbolism, not so much the painting itself ^^;
All I know is that you continue to amaze and you now have another great painting in your collection :)

A computer is a tool; it will not make your drawings look better. You put crap into the computer and you will get crap back out--

Thank you so much!

I really like your interpretation. I had not thought about any of that.

To me, really, the artist's interpretation is not necessarily the end of the story. Your interpretation is totally valid, as is mine too. Everyone's is. It's just something that I believe. :)
