Artist's Comments

These are the result of a small experiment: I wanted to try stretching watercolor like canvas over panel. They are 1" high, and 4"x4".

Watercolor, bleach, and gouache on watercolor paper.

View of the back for those curious.

I did this by soaking my watercolor paper (since being tea stained) in water and then wrapping it over the panel like you would with canvas. When the paper dries, it tightens (like gesso over canvas) and makes for a really interesting look.

**The image is blurry... I'll update with a better picture later on.

I like the creative solution of many many staples to make the paper stick =P

On the other hand, the pieces look really cool....future installation perhaps?

haha, I'll have to figure out the staple end of things... but hey, if it works, right?

And thanks! I may be doing an installation in the near future actually... :D

Haha, I think the staples are a good idea though. They'll probably last longer than something like spray glue or matte medium. There is an archival glue called Nori Paste that's pretty good for things like that though. Heard of it?

Really? I'm curious now...more of these or something different?

You're welcome =)
